Moffett To Discuss State of Cable at NYC Television Week
Add top media analyst Craig Moffett to the list of industry thought-leaders that will gather for the inaugural NYC Television Week.
Moffett, partner and senior research analyst, MoffettNathanson, will discuss the state of cable TV with Multichannel News editor-in-chief Mark Robichaux at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28. Their conversation will center on strategies and developments affecting distributors, programmers and the industry’s continued technological evolution.
Moffett joins other notables in their respective fields, during the State of Television conference that marks the start of NewBay Media's and the National Association of Broadcaster’s initial NYC Television Week.
Presented by Multichannel News and Broadcasting & Cable, NYC Television Week is scheduled from October 28-30 at the Waldorf Astoria and Metropolitan Pavilion and includes the B&C Hall of Fame, TV on Wall Street, the two-day TV Summit, and the Solutions Center exhibit floor, presented by NAB Show. The State of Television opens with an overview of the State of the Union — an examination of the overall business — by National Cable & Telecommunications Association president and CEO Michael Powell and NAB president Gordon Smith. From there, the conference provides in-depth explorations of various aspects of the industry, including: State of New Kids on the Block with Deb Roy, chief media scientist at Twitter; State of Advertising with GroupM chairman Irwin Gotlieb; and State of Sports with National Basketball Association commissioner David Stern.
That evening, the Waldorf Astoria is home to the 23rd Annual B&C Hall of Fame, with hosts Lesley Stahl and Meredith Vieira., honoring the pioneers, innovators, and stars of television.
