WorldGate Communications Inc. said it has begun mass production of its “Ojo” videophone, but the company wouldn’t say how many of the phones, which will retail for $799, it is producing.
The vendor had announced previously that Ojo distributor Motorola Inc. had ordered 1,200 videophones.
Motorola plans to announce retail distribution deals for Ojo during the next few weeks.
