The Allman Brothers Band is in the house at MSG Network.
In the first live music event in its 41-year history, MSGN will televise The Allman Brothers Band's concert from the Beacon Theatre on Monday, March 14 at 8:00 p.m. (ET).
The telecast of the performance, slated to air with limited commercials, will cap a big week for the southern rock back on the regional sports network, home to the New York Knicks and Rangers.
As the band prepares for its traditional March residency at the Beacon, MSGN from March 4 through March 11 will run feature four 75-minute specials from its March 2010 run at the United Palace Theatre. That venue subbed for the Beacon, which housed Cirque du Soleil during the Allmans usual extended stay, last year. See the schedule and set list from each of those shows below.
The group, which played its first show at the Beacon back in 1989, begins its 13-show run on March 10, including a record-setting sold-out 200th performance at the Manhattan venue, located at 74th Street and Broadway.
On March 4, the Allmans will also be the featured artist on MSGN's music-themed "Friday Night Knicks" telecast when the basketball team faces the Cleveland Cavaliers at Madison Square Garden. Every Friday, music performances round out the network's night with shows from MSG, the Beacon and Radio City Music Hall, all of which are part of MSG Entertainment, as well as top performances from Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza.
