MTV: Music Television will debut the third installment of its investigative
documentary series with Serena Altschul later this month.
In this installment of Breaking It Down with Serena, Altschul will
examine gangs.
During the program, debuting Nov. 19 at 10 p.m., she journeys onto the
streets of some of the nation's infamous gang areas, including South Central Los
Angeles, as well as to middle-American municipalities like Oklahoma City, to
learn about their cultures and lifestyles.
Altschul also talks with police and neighborhood residents to find some
answers as to why there has been a dramatic increase in the rate at which gang
members are shooting one another.
The program is a co-production of MTV News and Docs and Hacienda
Productions.
Previous Breaking It Down shows have looked at the U.S. military and
homeless kids on the streets of Los Angeles.
