MTV to Launch New Concert Series
MTV: Music Television will add a new concert series to its lineup of music
videos and reality series with the Jan. 14 premiere of mtvJammed.
The series will feature 'surprise' concert performances from secret
locations, as well as the behind-the-scenes efforts of the producers and bands
to set up the event.
The initial show will feature rock group No Doubt, with subsequent shows to
include Foo Fighters, Nelly, Blink-182 and Green Day.
The original pilot special of mtvJammed featured Sum 41 surprising
fans in Boston and first aired on MTV in October.
'At MTV, we are focused on creating a connection between our audience and the
music they love,' MTV and MTV2 programming president Brian Graden said in a
prepared statement.
Graden added, 'mtvJammed is a perfect example of how MTV is offering
our audience a multilayered view of their favorite bands and artists, with a
renegade style.'
