Mulligan to Leave Fox
Fox Television chairman Brian Mulligan announced his resignation from the
company Wednesday, citing personal reasons.
Mulligan oversaw the operations of the Fox Television
Stations group, Fox Sports, the Fox Cable Networks Group, Fox News Channel and
the business operations of Fox Broadcasting Co.
'Years of nonstop travel and involvement with approximately $100 billion of
transactions in my previous job, followed immediately by the time demands of
being chairman, led me to conclude that I needed to strike a better balance
between my personal and professional life,' said Mulligan, who held the position
less than one year.
News Corp. president and chief operating officer Peter Chernin said in a
prepared statement that Mulligan 'was a valued member of our team. We appreciate
how personally difficult this decision was for him, and we wish him well in his
future endeavors.'
