NAMIC Chapter To Honor Glenn Britt On Nov. 14
On Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC-Mid-Atlantic) will present Glenn Britt, Time Warner Cable Chairman and CEO, with its third annual Diversity Champion Award.
NAMIC-Mid-Atlantic’s Diversity Champion Award presentation will be held on the roof of The W Hotel, located at 515 Fifteenth Street, NW in Washington, D.C. Past recipients of the award include Mae Douglas of Cox Communications and The Honorable Mignon Clyburn, Acting FCC Chairwoman.
In making the announcement, NAMIC-Mid-Atlantic’s President Joelle Patience commented, “We are delighted to present the chapter’s third Diversity Champion Award to Glenn Britt and to recognize the unprecedented loyalty and support that Time Warner Cable’s Herndon Corporate Office has provided to NAMIC-Mid-Atlantic over many years. Mr. Britt has been an active and effective champion of diversity and inclusion at Time Warner Cable and in the communications ecosystem. We are proud to honor him with this award for his tireless dedication to advance diversity within the communications industry.”
Britt is a cable industry luminary whose influential career has spanned four decades. He was inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame (2007), Cable Pioneers (2001) and Broadcasting and Cable’s Hall of Fame (2008). He received NCTA’s Distinguished Vanguard Award for Leadership in 2006 and has been honored with awards for his efforts to advance multicultural initiatives, including the Kaitz Foundation Diversity Champion award and the NAMIC Stanley B. Thomas Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award.
