NAMIC To Receive Digital Media Grant

The Motorola Foundation will provide the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) with a $95,000 educational grant to support the organization's DiversityLive.net social networking and online community, NAMIC announced Monday.
The DiversityLive.net platform highlights multi-ethnic diversity within the communications industry through access to user-generated video content, professional networking opportunities, industry resources, professional development, diversity news, webinars and other educational offerings.
The site also features a DiversityLive blog designed to drive increased dialogue on multi-ethnic inclusion in the communications industry, said network officials.
"NAMIC is honored to have the opportunity to continue working with the Motorola Foundation, a technology leader that is committed to keeping diversity at the forefront of emerging digital platforms," said Kathy Johnson, president, NAMIC in a statement. "Through this contribution, we will have the tools to increase the engagement of our chapters and members at all levels."
Motorola has also signed on as the exclusive blog sponsor for the 24th Annual NAMIC Conference, which begins Tuesday (Sept. 14). Content from the conference, including General Session special event coverage, will be streamed on DiversityLive.net, according to NAMIC.
