NBC to Name Conaty to Bravo Post
NBC went internal to find Bravo's first marketing vice president under its
ownership: Erica Conaty, marketing and communications director of its
cable-networks unit.
Conaty will be named to the Bravo role Wednesday morning in one of the first
key executive assignments since Bravo was acquired by NBC from Cablevision
Systems Corp. subsidiary Rainbow Media Group last month.
Along with marketing functions, she will hold responsibilities for community
relations, public relations and in-school education outreach.
Conaty joined NBC Cable Networks in 1996 after a number of marketing and PR
positions with Odyssey Cruises.
Once with NBC, she handled marketing and trade-press efforts for CNBC, MSNBC,
ShopNBC and joint NBC broadcast-cable Olympic Games coverage. Telemundo
Communications Group Inc. and mun2Television functions were added when NBC
acquired those services in 2002.
"I am very proud of Erica and all that she has accomplished here, and I
congratulate her on this well-deserved promotion," NBC Cable president David
Zaslav said in a prepared statement.
