NBC U Sets Tsunami Telethon

published NBC Universal will air a telethon to aid tsunami victims on seven of its cable and broadcast outlets, AP reported.
The one-hour benefit show is set for Jan. 15 and, in addition to flagship broadcast network NBC, it will air on cable networks USA Network, Bravo, Trio, Sci Fi Channel, MSNBC and CNBC.
NBC U described the show as "music- and celebrity-driven," but the company did not announce details on performers, AP reported.
Clear Channel Communications Inc. has agreed to promote the special on its radio stations across the United States, according to AP.
NBC U told AP phone lines will remain open throughout the evening for donations.
