With the Big Game comes a very big and long lead-in.
NFL Network will kick off some 100 hours of Super Bowl-related fare before the Pittsburgh Steelers tangle with the Green Bay Packers on Feb. 6.
The pro football league's in-house service has lined up 100 hours of HD fare, including an 8.5-hour live pregame starting at 9 a.m. (ET) of Super Bowl XLV, with 21 on-air personalities from four locations across North Texas, including from the field at Cowboys Stadium.
Among the exclusive highlights: four hours of Super Bowl Media Day on Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the Jan 31- Feb 5 announcements of The Associated Press's NFL awards, which will be unveiled each night at 7 (ET) on NFL Total Access at the Super Bowl, culminating with the Most Valuable Player on NFL GameDay Morning at the Super Bowl pregame show; and a Feb. 5 primetime special, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Announcement Show at 7 p.m. that could see NFL Network talent Marshall Faulk and Deion Sanders and NFL Films founder Ed Sabol receive the call from Canton.
"The growing appetite of fans for all things NFL fuels our programming all year and there is no better time for us to deliver the best wall-to-wall NFL coverage than Super Bowl week," said NFL Network executive producer Eric Weinberger in announcing the network's programming roster. "With more than 100 hours of coverage on NFL Network, including the longest pregame show on television Super Bowl Sunday, we will bring fans all the sights and sounds of the most celebrated week in sports."
