NFL Network Tackles Big Viewership With Combine Coverage
NFL Network's four-day coverage of the league's scouting combine combined to bring more than 5 million viewers to the network.
NFL Network's exclusive coverage of the 2009 NFL Scouting Combine Presented by Under Armour encompassed four days of live workouts from Feb. 21 through Feb. 24, featuring positional workouts, the 40-yard dash, the bench press, news coverage and everything in between.
Cume viewership grew 26% from last year's talent tryout, according to NFL Network officials.
The quarterback, wide receiver and running back segment on Sunday Feb. 22, grew 41% from a year ago and was the top combine telecast ever, according to league officials.
The Feb. 21 evaluation of kickers, offensive linemen and tight ends was up 43% and ranked as the second most-watched combine telecast to date.
The telecasts on Feb. 23, showcasing linebackers and defensive linemen, and Feb. 24, defensive backs, notched gains of 35% and 100%, respectively.
