NFL Settles Lawsuit Over Sunday Ticket

published PHILADELPHIA -The National Football League agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit over its out-of-market pay-per-view package on DirecTV Inc.
Pending a federal judge's approval, DirecTV Inc. will let "NFL Sunday Ticket" viewers buy games on a week-to-week basis for $29.99, or all 16 weeks for $169. The league will also pay $7.5 million in cash to 1.8 million consumers who bought the package since 1997, when the suit was filed.
The NFL will also pay $2.9 million in coupons toward league merchandise, $3.7 million in legal fees and $2.3 million in other fees.
