NEW YORK — After years of sitting on the sidelines, it looks as if Time Warner Cable will soon carry the NFL Network.
At press time Friday morning, the nation’s No. 2 cable operator was nearing the finalization of a carriage contract for the pro football league’s in-house service, as well as its ad-hoc scoring channel, NFL RedZone.
Bloomberg News reported first that the nation’s No. 2 cable operator was close to completing a carriage contract for the pro football league’s services, with an expectation that the network’s Sept. 27 Thursday Night Football Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens game would be shown across its footprint. Other outlets, including Multichannel News, confirmed the report. Deal terms were not immediately known. Both TWC and NFL officials did not immediately respond to calls by press time.
