Nickelodeon Tops Cable Daytime Emmy Nods
Nickelodeon snared the lion’s share of cable’s Daytime Entertainment Emmy Award nominations with 36, according to The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).
Other cable networks drawing double-digit nominations include The Hub with 17 nominations, Cartoon Network with 11 nods, and Food Network with 10 acknowledgements. Overall CBS garnered the most network nominations with 49, followed by PBS (44) and ABC (38).
Nickelodeon’s animated series Kung Fu Panda: Legends Of Awesomeness and Cartoon Network’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars earned the most cable show nominations with seven. CBS’ daytime soap opera The Young and The Restless garnered 23 nominations to top all television shows.
The 40th annual Daytime Emmy Awards will air on HLN June 16 at 8 p.m., according to NATAS officials.
