Nickelodeon Tops Disney Channel For Weekly Ratings Win
The July 13 premiere of Nickelodeon's new live-action series The Haunted Hathaways helped the kids-targeted network win a close weekly total day ratings race.
Nickelodeon averaged 1.87 million viewers on a 24-hour basis during the week of July 8 to July 14, bolstered by the 3.3 million viewers garnered by The Haunted Hathaways, which follows a family who moves into a new house inhabited by ghosts.
Nick narrowly defeated Disney Channel, which drew 1.85 million viewers during the week, according to Nielsen. Adult Swim finished third with 1.3 million viewers, followed by Nick At Nite (1.1 million viewers) and Fox News (1.1 million.)
USA Network continued to dominate the weekly primetime ratings chart, averaging 2.3 million viewers for its fifth straight ratings win. Disney Channel finished second with 2.2 million viewers, followed by History Channel’s 2.2 million watchers. TNT, paced by the week’s most watched show Rizzoli & Isles, finished fourth with 1.9 viewers, followed by Fox News with 1.8 million viewers.
TBS (1.7 million viewers); A&E (1.6 million); FX (1.5 million); HGTV (1.2 million) and Adult Swim (1.1 million) rounded out the top 10, according to Nielsen.
TBS was the most watched network among adults 18-49 and adults 18-34, while History was the top choice among adults 25-54 for the week.
