Nigolian Into Starz's Sticky Situation
It's a tough job, but someone has to do it: Starz Encore Group LLC Wednesday
named Andrew Nigolian division vice president for its Comcast Corp. account.
Comcast and Starz Encore are entangled in a huge legal battle, with the giant
MSO filing suit against the programmer last November.
Comcast, which merged with AT&T Broadband last year, is claiming that it
should not be bound by a controversial 25-year carriage deal struck by AT&T
Broadband's predecessor company.
And Starz Encore, in turn, has a separate suit pending against AT&T
Broadband.
A Starz Encore spokeswoman declined to comment on the status of the pending
legal actions.
Nigolian -- most recently head of the Starz Encore Adelphia Communications
Corp. account team in Coudersport, Pa. -- will now be based in Philadelphia,
Comcast's headquarters.
Nigolian came to Starz Encore from Time Warner Cable in Binghamton,
N.Y.
