OpenTV Corp. said it acquired little-known cable-advertising-systems vendor CAM Systems LLC for $19.5 million in cash and stock.
CAM, which was founded 10 years ago by The Lenfest Group, sells advertising-traffic systems. Its customers include Comcast Corp., Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications Inc., Charter Communications Inc. and the New York Interconnect, according to the company’s Web site (www.camsystems.com).
On the programming side, CAM’s customers include College Sports Television, Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, Scripps Networks and Fox News Channel.
OpenTV said the deal will help the interactive-TV firm to provide interactive-advertising products.
