Optimum Debuts Video-Quality Analyzer
Optimum Holding introduced its Q-Master video-quality analyzer for IPTV Tuesday.
The vendor said the Q-Master system uses International Telecommunications Union standard perceptual analysis to generate a mean opinion score that represents the end-user's perception of quality from the device under test, which include codecs, echo-cancellers, transcoders, gateways, set-top boxes and other types of video-networking equipment.
“The use of perceptual-measurement algorithms enables system OEMs [original-equipment manufacturers] and service providers to test, measure and analyze the quality of the multimedia produced by their products from the end-user’s perspective," Optimum vice president Aart Konynenberg said in a prepared statement.
Optimum said the system is now available, starting at $34,990.
