OWN Sets New Romance-Themed Reality Shows
OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network Thursday has announced several unscripted reality series that will debut later this year and into 2019 as part of its Saturday night programming lineup.
The shows, which all fall within the romance/dating reality series genre, include Chad Loves Michelle, which follows the lives of music group Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams and pastor Chad Johnson leading up to their marriage (premieres Nov. 3); and Ready To Love, a dating series from Will Packer Media and Lighthearted Entertainment which explores the real-life dating interactions of successful black men and women in their 30s and 40s (two night premiere debuts Oct. 23 and Oct. 27), according to OWN.
Two other shows set to premiere in 2019 include Family orFiancé, which will bring families of newly engaged couples under one roof; and Rocket City Revival, which bring three high-powered African-American couples together to help revitalize their Alabama hometown through their joint real estate venture, the network said.
“OWN viewers are looking for real and honest stories that are relatable to their own lives,” said Erik Logan, president of OWN in a statement. “These new shows all feature passionate relationships and the desire to keep love alive and will captivate viewers from the very beginning. I’m excited about our growing roster of unscripted programs joining our Saturday night lineup."
