Pac-12 Conference Adds Wave Broadband to Affiliate Team
Pac-12 Enterprises, the content and multiplatform media company for the Pac-12 Conference, has reached a new, long-term agreement with Wave Broadband for carriage of its national service, as well as three of regional networks, when they launch next week.
The Pac-12 national network and the Pac-12 regional networks -- Pac-12 Bay Area, Pac-12 Washington and Pac-12 Oregon -- that aligns with Wave and Astound systems serving customers in Sacramento, Seattle and Portland areas, respectively, will be available for their August 15 kickoff.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Wave Broadband is a part of WaveDivision Holdings and serves some 325,000 subscribers in northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
During the first few weeks of the 2012 football season, the Pac-12 Networks live football schedule features matchups appealing to customers across Wave's three markets, including home games from Stanford, Cal, Oregon State and Washington in the first week, followed by Washington State and Oregon making their Pac-12 Networks debut in week two.
All told, Seven Pac-12 networks, a national feed, plus regionals mapping the conference footprint in Northern California (Stanford and Cal); Southern California (USC and UCLA); Oregon (Oregon State and Oregon); Washington (Washington State and Washington); Arizona (Arizona State and Arizona); and Mountain (Utah and Colorado) areas; are scheduled to debut on Aug. 15. They will be accompanied by a flanking online portal and TV Everywhere platform.
"We are delighted to offer our customers the Pac-12 Networks' compelling, sought-after events and programming from the Pac-12 conference; this is truly a testimonial of our commitment to delivering the quality programming our customers ask for," said Arah Peck, CMO of Wave Broadband. "Our commitment to delivering the programming our customers want at the best possible value will continue to be a pledge to our customers."
Wave is the latest addition to the Pac-12 Networks roster, which through a master agreement that Pac-12 Enterprises reached with the National Cable Television Cooperative last month, also includes BendBroadband, Frontier Communications, Western Broadband and Orbitel Communications.
These providers join Pac-12's charter affiliates: Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Bright House Networks and Cox Communications.
