Pegasus Communications Corp. said Monday that it has formed a new
content-development group called Pegasus Interactive Content (PiC).
Vice president Nicholas Pagon, recently head of the company's broadcast
group, has been tapped to oversee the PiC group.
The group will create original content for Pegasus Express, the company's new
broadband-satellite service.
The company also plans to aggregate streaming and interactive content to
create 'an enchanted forest, rather than a walled garden,' spokeswoman Yolanda
Robins said.
In addition to its satellite content, PiC will create regional portals in
markets where Pegasus owns and operates television stations, including Jackson,
Miss.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Scranton, Pa.; Tallahassee, Fla.; and Mobile, Ala.
The company has already created a site for Portland, Maine, called OurMaine.com.
PiC will be based in the Philadelphia suburb of Bala Cynwyd, Pa., and it has
already begun building production facilities there.
Pegasus is a reseller of DirecTV Inc. direct-broadcast satellite television
services.
