AMC Networks has elevated Marci Weisman to executive in charge of Owned Content Distribution and Strategy, a new post. She had been head of business affairs at AMC.
DHR INTERNATIONAL
Sean Scanlon has been named managing director of executive-search firm DHR International’s Los Angeles office. He comes from Caldwell Partners, where he led the firm’s Media and Entertainment practice.
DISNEY JUNIOR
Disney Junior has promoted Emily Hart to vice president, original programming. She had been executive director, original programming, Disney Junior.
FRONT PORCH
Lafayette, Colo.-based cloud-based content storage management systems provider Front Porch Digital has elevated Rino Petricola to chief operations officer and general manager. He will continue as GM of Front Porch Digital International.
HLN
Lynn Berry has been named host of the HLN series Weekend Express. The former host of NBC’s Early Today and MSNBC’s First Look had been a fill-in host since December.
Also, Brian McFayden was named sports correspondent on HLN’s Morning Express With Robin Meade, and Ali Nejad and Yasmin Voussoughian were named correspondents for the network.
NAT GEO
Peter van Roden has joined the National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C., as senior vice president, global experiences and events. He comes from Sesame Workshop, where he was VP, themed entertainment.
SONAR
Gene Stein was named CEO of Sonar Entertaniment. He had been president of television at BermanBraun.
TVGN
TVGN has added a pair of executives to its marketing team: Melissa Stone Mangham as vice president, marketing and brand strategy; and Rich Browd as vice president, creative director. Mangham comes from NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, where she was VP, consumer marketing and partnerships at Style; Browd had been a senior art director at MTV Networks.
TROIKA
Alejandro Lopez has joined Hollywoodbased entertaniment brand consultancy Troika as executive creative director. He had been the head of ad agency Leo Burnett’s Japan office.
Also, cultural anthropologist Susan Kresnicka has joined Troika to head its newly formed Research and Insights group, tasked with providing market insights to the branding firm’s Entertainment, Sports and Marketing Innovations divisions. She comes from Frank N. Magid Associates, where she was VP, research.
WOHLER
Steve Farmer has joined San Francisco-based Wohler Technologies as director of engineering. He comes from DSMB Technology, which he founded.
