Pioneer Electronics Corp. and Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. announced a multiyear licensing agreement that also resolved all of the outstanding litgation between the two companies.
The deal includes a patent license that enables Pioneer to incorporate Gemstar-TV Guide's technology in Pioneer digital-cable products and a $14 million payment from Pioneer to Gemstar. Pioneer will also pay license fees to Gemstar-TV Guide.
