Pioneer Digital Technologies Inc.'s “Passport Echo” software guide has passed Acadia validation at Motorola Inc., allowing MSOs to deploy the software in Motorola's “DCT6412” dual-tuner digital-video-recorder set-tops.
Cox Communications Inc. announced last week that it was downloading Passport Echo in Motorola markets in order to activate the features in the dual tuner box.
The software allows customers to watch a recorded program, while recording up to two live programs at the same time. The DCT6412 also allows for recording of HDTV content.
Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc.’s TV Guide Interactive also received certification last week, joining Microsoft Corp.’s “TV Foundation” as options for the DCT6412.
