Playboy Net Loss Widens
By MCN Staff
published Playboy Enterprises Inc. posted a second-quarter net loss of $8.3 million, or $0.26 per basic and diluted share, versus a loss of $900,000 ($0.04) in the year-ago period.
The company said the current quarter’s results included approximately $6 million in charges related to recent debt-reduction activities.
Revenues rose by $2.7 million to $78.7 million, while operating income fell by $2.4 million to $3.1 million, as increased operating profits in PEI’s licensing, online and publishing businesses were offset by lower entertainment results.
PEI said domestic TV revenues were $22.5 million, down $1.4 million versus second-quarter 2003.
