Police: Comcast Field Tech Died Naturally
A Comcast field technician found slumped over utility-pole lines in Waterbury, Conn., Tuesday died of natural causes, police in Watertown, Conn., said Wednesday.
Eugene Dow, 51, was working on cable plant on Watertown Avenue “when he slumped over cable wires, his arm dangling on one side and his body limp on top of a ladder,” the Waterbury Republican-American reported Tuesday.
Although electrical lines were also connected to the utility pole, Waterbury Police Lt. Chris Corbett said Wednesday that Dow died of “natural causes.” Corbett wouldn’t elaborate.
Comcast said Dow, a resident of Terryville, Conn., had worked for the company for six years.
“We extend our most sincere sympathies to Gene’s family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and with his many friends and co-workers,” Doug Guthrie, vice president of Comcast’s Connecticut-West region, said in a prepared statement.
