New York -- Cablevision Systems Corp. might hold that thrice-postponed
shareholders' meeting on a Rainbow Media Group tracking stock this Friday after
all.
Or maybe not: Chairman Charles Dolan was coy on the subject Tuesday. Speaking
to a trio of reporters at a Waller Capital Corp. investment conference here,
Dolan said, 'We will have the [shareholders'] meeting Friday. For now.'
Cablevision has been pushing back the vote on a Rainbow tracker while
fielding sale bids. But the bids apparently weren't in the $4 billion-plus
range, and a published report Tuesday indicated that Dolan wants to go ahead
with the tracker as originally planned.
