The one-hour weekly program “Rainbow Push with Jesse Jackson” highlights the religious and political agenda so often representative of the man. He plans to use the forum to spread the word of God, and to discuss social, racial and economic justice. Reverend Jackson wants to unite people of diverse ethnic, religious, economic and political backgrounds to make America’s promise of “liberty and justice for all” a reality.
Jesse Jackson came to prominence through the civil rights movement and he has played a role in every movement for empowerment, peace, civil rights, gender equality and economic and social justice. Reverend Jackson has been called “the conscience of the nation” and “the great unifier.”
He said “the American Dream is one big tent of many cultures, races and religions. Under that tent, everybody is assured equal protection of law, equal opportunity, equal access and a fair share. Our struggle demands that we open closed doors, extend the tent and even the playing field.”
