‘Teen Beach 2’ Ratings Falls Short of Original
Disney Channel’s Teen Beach 2 movie telecast Friday drew the biggest audience for a cable original movie this year, but couldn’t match the ratings sizzle of the original Teen Beach Movie.
The movie’s average 5.8 million viewers was below the 8.4 million viewers the Teen Beach Movie premiere drew in 2013, according to Nielsen.
The movie, which stars Maia Mitchell (The Fosters) and Ross Lynch (Austin & Ally), drew the biggest audience among kids 6 to 11 (2.5 million viewers) and Tweens 9-14 (2.2 million) since the first Teen Beach Movie, said Disney.
The movie also generated 588,000 views on Watch Disney Channel TV Everywhere app, according to network officials.
