Raven to Star in New Disney Series
Pasadena, Calif. -- The Cosby Show child star Raven (formerly
Raven-Symone) will star in Disney Channel's new family sitcom, That's So
Raven, premiering in January 2003.
The live-action sitcom features Raven as a teen whose ability to glimpse into
the future often causes problems for her and her family, Disney Channel
president of entertainment Rich Ross said Wednesday at the Television Critics
Association tour here.
The show will air as part of the network's 'Zoog Disney' tween weekend block,
Ross added.
The network also announced a new Halloween-targeted original movie, Scream
Team, set to premiere in October 2002. The movie, about the existence of
ghosts in a small town, stars Tommy Davidson (Disney's The Proud Family)
and Kathy Najimy (Sister Act).
Other original movies scheduled for the fall season include You Wish!,
about a kid who wishes his brother away, and a movie based on the network's
original series Even Stevens.
