Razorfish to Develop HBO Brothers Site
Razorfish Inc. has been selected to build and design the Web site for Home
Box Office's highly anticipated World War II miniseries, Band of
Brothers.
The digital-solutions provider will work with the premium network to create a
user-focused site that will provide deep historical content, highlighted by six
original 'Webisodes' that will depict various aspects of the war.
The site, which will feature the trailer for the miniseries, is also expected
to showcase other video and audio archival materials.
The Webisodes -- rolling out with the site's launch and continuing through
the miniseries premiere in September -- will provide an overview of the war,
beginning with the Battle of Britain in mid-1941 and culminating with the D-Day
invasion of Normandy in June 1944, where the miniseries picks up.
Executive-produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, Band of Brothers
-- carrying a $120 million production budget over 10 installments -- is based on
the best-selling book written by war historian Stephen Ambrose. It follows the
true story of the men of an Army parachute infantry regimen.
