Regina Belle to Entertain at WICT Atlanta Gala

Grammy-winning R&B singer Regina Belle will perform at the 30th-anniversary celebration for the Atlanta chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications, a gala event on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

The chapter also will honor seven of its members at the event, the annual Red Letter Awards Gala. The ceremony will be at the Buckhead Theatre, an Atlanta landmark. Belle will open the night at 7 p.m., appearing courtesy of gmc. Great American Country's Nan Kelley will give a keynote on the WICT Touchstone "Know Yourself." The Weather Channel's Stephanie Abrams (pictured) will serve as the master of ceremonies.

These are the Red Letter Award winners:

Catalyst Award for Women in Technology: Rhonda Holt, senior vice president of digital media technologies and media asset management at Turner Broadcasting, for her significant contributions in the industry as a woman who holds a position in technology.

Horizon Award for Woman to Watch: Sheri Gates McGaughy, vice president of legal at The Weather Channel, for her consistent record of professional success and job excellence.

Inspiration Award for Woman of the Year: Lynne Costantini, executive vice president of affiliate sales and marketing at Scripps Networks, for visionary leadership and having a milestone year that contributed to the evolution of the cable telecommunications industry.

The Mentor Award: Melissa Sykes, vice president of content diversity at Scripps Networks, for championing women's issues in the workplace and developing mentoring initiatives.

Rising Star Award for Emerging Leaders: Three women will be recognized for establishing competency and success in their area of expertise and for being influential leaders within their organizations and the cable telecommunications industry. This year's winners are: Kathy Gray, executive producer and director of project services at Turner Studios/Turner Broadcasting; Heather Jagels, manager of creative services at DIY Network/Scripps Networks; and Laura Poffenberger, senior product manager and producer at Yahoo!

WICT Atlanta will introduce the Milestone Award to recognize companies in the cable and telecommunications industry that mark 30 years or more of cable excellence and have played an integral role in supporting WICT's mission of developing women leaders. Turner Broadcasting System is the chapter's first Milestone Award honoree for its "40 Years of Cable Excellence." Vice Chairman Andrew T. Heller will accept on behalf of the company.
