Reid Out at Discovery Health
The revolving executive door continues at Discovery Networks U.S. as Discovery Health Channel senior vice president and general manager Bob Reid is leaving the company over "philosophical differences" with president Billy Campbell over the future direction of the network.
Reid -- a seven-year veteran of Discovery Health, who has been heading the network since 2001 -- spearheaded several highly recognized shows, including Body Challenge, Berman and Berman and Adoption Stories. The network averaged a 0.2 primetime rating last year, even with 2002.
Sources at Discovery said Campbell and Reid disagreed over how to grow and expand the network, although specific details were sketchy at press time.
Reid’s departure follows on the heels of Animal Planet general manager Michael Cascio, who resigned last month.
