Cisco Systems reported strong fiscal-second-quarter results on the back of its acquisition of Scientific Atlanta and the emergence of Internet-protocol TV.
The company said revenue for the quarter ended Jan. 27 was $8.4 billion, up 27% from $6.6 billion in the previous-year period, and net income of $1.9 billion, or 31 cents per share, was up from the year-ago quarter’s $1.4 billion (22 cents).
Cisco added that $639 million of its second-quarter sales came from SA.
