Science Applications International Corp. said Wednesday that its "Call Agent" soft switch has been awarded Cable Television Laboratories Inc. PacketCable-qualified status for its call-management server in certification wave 27.
The Call Agent was originally developed at Telcordia Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of SAIC.
The CMS performs many critical functions necessary for packet-voice communications, including connection management, implementation of subscriber features and call accounting.
