SCTE: Cable-Tec Expo 2013 Attendance ‘Approaches 9,800’
ATLANTA – SCTE Cable-Tec Expo -- The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) said Thursday that its annual marquee event here drew approximately 9,800, representing a 6% increase versus last year’s show in Orlando.
The show also drew more than 60 first-time exhibitors, and more than 1,200 international attendees, the Society said.
SCTE’s day-long, pre-show workshops held on Monday – “Creating the Cable Generalist” and “DOCSIS 3.1 Engineering” — drew more than 400 registrants.
“Wherever I went this year, there was enthusiasm about how SCTE Cable-Tec Expo is breaking new ground in issues that are essential to the future of cable,” said Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of SCTE, in a statement. “I’m pleased at how the industry responded to this event and am particularly grateful to Michael Powell (NCTA CEO; to Pat Esser (Cox president), Kevin Hart (Cox EVP and CTO) and their teams at Cox Communications for their overwhelming support; and to CableLabs for their work in creating our standing-room-only DOCSIS 3.1 symposium.”
SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014 will be held September 23-26 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Tony Werner, executive vice president and CTO of Comcast Cable, will serve as Program Committee chairman for the 2014 event.
