SCTE Partners With CommScope For Broadband Installation Course
The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers will team up with CommScope to offer training through SCTE chapters and meeting groups covering fundamentals of broadband installation and troubleshooting.
Under the partnership, CommScope instructors will travel to any of SCTE's 68 chapters and meeting groups to conduct the course in one four-hour session. The course, "Drop Installation Fundamentals: The Core to Network Reliability," is to at the SCTE Great Lakes Chapter on Nov. 4 and will be available to all chapters in 2010.
The CommScope-developed course will cover basic analog cable network configurations and how signals flow from the network to the customer's television; demonstrate proper handling and installation of cables used within the drop system; and distinguish passive and active devices within a customer's premises.
CommScope will provide more information about the course at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2009, Oct. 28-30 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
