EchoStar Communications Corp. and Sea Launch Co. signed a launch agreement for the “EchoStar XI” satellite in 2007.
EchoStar XI will mark Sea Launch's third mission with an EchoStar bird, following EchoStar IX in August 2003 and EchoStar X this past February.
The satellite is being built by Space Systems/Loral, and it will support Dish Network DBS subscribers.
