Shaw Communications Inc. will offer F-Secure Corp.’s security services to its high-speed-data subscribers, the vendor said Monday.
The Canadian MSO’s customers can purchase fully managed antivirus, firewall, parental-control, spam-control, pop-up-blocker and anti-spyware services on a monthly subscription basis, for $4.95 per month.
Shaw subscribers will receive the services, branded as “Shaw Secure,” free-of-charge for six months for up to three PCs before the $4.95-per-month fee takes effect.
“Services like Shaw Secure -- which is hosted and managed by F-Secure in the background -- give people literally hourly security updates and automatic software upgrades so that they can focus on their computer enjoyment and leave the security worries to us,” F-Secure vice president of North American sales Curtis Cresta said in a prepared statement.
