Showtime Exec Gets Key In Demand Job
Pay-per-view network In Demand last week tapped former Showtime Networks Inc. marketing executive Jim Dettman as vice president of affiliate marketing.
Dettman will head In Demand's field marketing team and play a key role in the development of strategies and tactics that support In Demand's sales and marketing goals.
As a liaison between the corporate office and field staffers in New York, Atlanta, Denver and Los Angeles, Dettman will direct regional and local marketing efforts to drive buy-rates, the network said.
Prior to joining In Demand, Dettman was a 12-year veteran of Showtime. He most recently served as director of sales and affiliate marketing for the pay TV programmer's PPV arm, Showtime Event Television. At SET, Dettman negotiated PPV deals with national distributors like In Demand and was involved in distribution and marketing for some of the industry's most lucrative heavyweight boxing matches and top music events.
"This is a real coup for In Demand," In Demand senior vice president of marketing and brand Director Gavin Harvey said in a statement. "The arrival of someone with Jim's experience illustrates not only the robust nature of this branded network, but is also indicative of the dynamic growth ahead for us as we continue to grow our base business and support the rollout of our sports packages and VOD [video-on-demand]."
