Speed Sets Ratings Mark With NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
It was a photo finish, but Speed recorded record ratings with its coverage of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this season.
The circuit averaged 597,000 households and a 0.81 rating, inching past the 0.80 for the 2008 campaign, according to Nielsen data.
The 2009 season average marked a 35% jump from the 0.60 mark Speed averaged in 2003, its first year with the truck circuit, said network officials.
"It's just great racing and more and more fans are watching," said Speed president Hunter Nickell in a statement. "The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is the highest rated racing series on the network and, like all the race teams, the Speed crew will get some rest and go back to Daytona ready to keep that momentum going."
