Speedvision Sets `Fast' Print Push
Speedvision announced Wednesday that a yearlong ad campaign, stressing the
need for speed, will run as of this month in such magazines as
Automobile, Cycle World, Maxim and Motor Trend, as
well as in national newspaper USA Today.
Themed 'Think Fast,' the campaign will feature seven-time National
Association for Stock Car Auto Racing champion Dale Earnhardt, automotive
designer Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital Design and auto enthusiast Mercedes
Cory.
In Giugiaro's ad, the designer is shown with a concept car as he says, 'If
you consider what the automobile did to the world, I think it is the most
important revolution of our lives.'
Speedvision vice president of marketing Shari Leventhal said in a prepared
statement, 'Our objective for the print campaign is to connect the incredible
passion people have for the world of speed and their vehicles with specific
Speedvision programs.' Cory's ad, for instance, plugs the series Hot Road
TV.
Speedvision did not disclose its budget.
Sister service Outdoor Life Network began a TV campaign of its own last
month.
