Alaska-based MSO General Communication will add Sportsman Channel HD to its Digital Variety package on Aug. 14, the programmer said Monday.
The launch comes on the heels of GCI adding Sportsman’s standard-definition feed to its lineup on Aug. 1. Digital Variety subscribers can tune in to Sportsman Channel HD on channel 746.
“The opportunity to enjoy Sportsman Channel HD content on GCI in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Palmer and Wasilla is a welcome development in the growth surge of the network in Alaska,” Nory LeBrun, head of affiliate sales for New Berlin, Wisc.-based Sportsman Channel, said in a statement. “Sportsman HD brings viewers closer to the action while hunting, fishing and shooting in some of the most interesting and scenic parts of the world.”
