The Sportsman Channel is combining country music with hunting and fishing tips in its first original program.
The upstart pay TV network said it signed country-music star Daniel Lee Martin to shoot Backstage & Backroads, which will debut Tuesday, April 3, at 9 p.m. (CST). Sportsman ordered 13 episodes of the program, which will feature both music and hunting and fishing content.
“Backstage & Backroads will bring the excitement of the country-music-entertainment business and the adventures of field and stream to living rooms across the country,” the network said in a prepared statement.
Sportsman, which debuted in 2003, said it counts 15 million households nationwide.
