Syfy scored its top wrestling demo and total audience numbers and best overall performance on a Friday night in six years on Jan. 21.
WWE Friday Night Smackdown averaged a 2.1 rating and 3.3 million viewers from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., according to Nielsen data. Included in that total were 1.45 million adults 25 to 54, 1.27 million persons 18 to 49.
That made it Syfy's most-watched Friday primetime telecast since Stargate Atlantis in July 2004, said network officials. WWE Friday Night Smackdown bowed on Syfy on Oct. 1, 2010.
The program was up 11% in total viewers, 14% among persons 18 to 49 and 18% among adults 25 to 54 from the Jan. 14 telecast.
