Syfy Teams With YouTube to Conjure More Awareness of ‘The Magicians’

Syfy and YouTube teamed up on a video campaign aimed at driving awareness and viewership of The Magicians in the two weeks that preceded tonight’s season two premiere of the series at 9/8c, which adapts Lev Grossman’s popular fantasy trilogy.
They developed and made available 18 custom spots that featured cast members of the show that, they said, have drawn view-through rates higher than the average for entertainment-related “TrueView” opt-in ads.
The spots centered on the show’s cast discussing “Adulting” (a term the youngs use to refer to grown-up responsibilities) and answering other questions that people have likely searched for on YouTube.
Here’s one that has drawn more than 254,000 views at last check:
