Turner Broadcasting System expanded the role of strategic group vice president Gary McCarthy to oversee the finance and accounting activity of the company’s animation division.
Reporting to senior VP of finance and accounting Mark Hartman, McCarthy is now responsible for long-range planning, budgeting, forecasting, deal analysis, production accounting and general accounting functions supporting Turner’s animation division, which includes Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Adult Swim, Cartoonnetwork.com (www.cartoonnetwork.com), AdultSwim.com (www.adultswim.com), Cartoon Network Studios and Williams Street Studios.
“Gary brings a wealth of industry and institutional knowledge to his new role,” Hartman said. “He has spent the last nine years as a member of our company’s in-house strategy team, engaged in industry and competitive analysis, acquisitions, deal analysis, asset integration, divestitures and more. He’s knowledgeable about Turner Animation, having been an early employee of Cartoon Network. Gary will continue to make important contributions as an adviser and leader.”
