Terayon Shapes MPEG-4
published
Terayon Communication Systems is rolling out the CAP-1000, a new member of its CherryPicker Application Platform line that provides rate-shaping of MPEG-4 video streams.
In addition to handling of real-time MPEG-4 AVC standard-definition and HD streams, the CAP-1000 enables additional applications such as grooming, dejittering and localized ad insertion.
The one-rack-unit-high CAP-1000 can handle up to 2 gigabits per second of aggregate video stream throughput, Terayon claimed.
Terayon is the process of being acquired by Motorola for about $140 million in cash.
