Thomson Makes 160-GB DVR for Sky

published Thomson Multimedia said U.K. direct-broadcast satellite provider British Sky Broadcasting Group plc has signed a deal to buy 160-gigabit hard-drive digital-video-recorder boxes that are capable of storing 80 hours of content.
The new “Sky+” receiver will also have universal-serial-bus 2.0 connectivity for future applications and sport the latest conditional-access system from NDS Group plc.
"Sky+ 160 will allow BSkyB to offer even more flexibility, choice and control for our growing customer base," BSkyB director of new-product development and sales Brian Sullivan said in a prepared statement.
